Meet Kaila

Hello! I am a Kodaly certified elementary music teacher in Columbus, Indiana. I have a bachelor of music in vocal performance from Brigham Young University, and a Master of Science in music education with a minor in vocal performance from Indiana University. I took my Kodaly levels from Indiana University and I'm working on my second level of Orff at the University of Kentucky. I teach Pre-K through 6th grade music in Columbus, Indiana and also teach the early childhood class for the Columbus Indiana Children's Choir (a branch of the Indianapolis Children's Choir).

I am passionate about teaching music and have been very fortunate to have been surrounded by master pedagogues throughout my education. I love collaborating with other educators and passing on ideas and resources that have worked well for me.

I'm married to an engineer, who is my perfect opposite and we have three children together. Our daughter (the oldest) is studying Engineering and piano at Colorado State University, our middle son plays the alto saxophone, the violin and runs XC. And our youngest plays violin and dabbles with computer programming. Together, we love camping, road trips (we've visited all lower 48 states), and spending time at the lake.
